I just wanted to bring you and the Metro South East Area (MetSEA) up to speed with what is occurring with Peakhurst Swim Club.
 
On the 5 December 2024 the Education Department (ED) without any prior notice or consultation to us or other pool hirers and users decided to close the Peakhurst West Swimming Pool. The pool will now be effectively closed until further notice.
 
The ED sighted some compliance issues that a local government inspection had identified and the process that they were about embark upon in calling for tenders for the operation of the pool as the reasons for this closure.
 
As you would imagine this decision has had a huge impact upon our PASC operations and activities.
 
The Club is mounting a campaign with the assistance of the media and our local members of parliament to have this decision reversed as soon as possible.
 
However, in the meantime all our squad training, LTS and weekly Club activities have had to be suspended.
 
I have also advised SNSW of this development.
